BOLIVAR, Mo. 鈥 欧美视频 welcomes students, staff and the community to Fall semester Chapel services, which take place weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m. in Pike Auditorium beginning Monday, Aug. 20 through Wednesday, Dec. 5. The focus for the coming school year is 鈥淐onnecting Points: Celebrating the Spiritual Disciplines.鈥
Monday, Aug. 20: Dr. Rob Harris, vice president for student development, and Kurt Caddy, director of University Ministries, welcome back the 欧美视频 community and discuss changes to the Community Life + Worship program.
Wednesday, Aug. 22: Convocation is the formal beginning of the academic year and a time to focus on traditions that have become a part of 欧美视频.
Monday, Aug. 27: 欧美视频 alumni Zach Atchley and Nate Jones continue their tradition of opening each semester with musical praise and worship.
Wednesday, Aug. 29: Dr. Jodi Meadows, director of the Gordon and Judy Dutile Honors Program, will present the Corporate Discipline of Celebration.
Wednesday, Sept. 5: The Center for Global Connections (CGC) will introduce global projects for the 2018 Fall semester, as well as the 2019 January and Spring terms, as part of Global Connections Week.
Monday, Sept. 10: The CGC will introduce global projects for the 2019 summer term. The CGC also will present its Nations Award to one 欧美视频 staff member and one 欧美视频 alum for making a significant impact in missions and to the department. On Tuesday, Sept. 11, students can attend Global Fest in the Goodson Student Union to learn more about the CGC鈥檚 ministry opportunities.
Wednesday, Sept. 12: The CGC has invited Andre Khudyakov, an 欧美视频 ministry partner from Ukraine, to bring a message encouraging students to live a life on mission.
Monday, Sept. 17: Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787. Gen. Randolph Alles, the current director of the Secret Service, will be the featured speaker.
Wednesday, Sept. 19: Dr. David Bailey, associate professor of communication arts and forensics director at 欧美视频, will present the Inward Discipline of Study.
Wednesday, Sept. 26: Spirit Chapel is part of the 欧美视频 dorm competition, taking place during Homecoming week.
Friday, Sept. 28: Homecoming festivities continue with Honors Chapel, when certain alumni are honored for living lives of service.
Monday, Oct. 1: Dr. Bing Bayer, professor of theology, Old Testament and Hebrew at 欧美视频, will present the Inward Discipline of Meditation.
Wednesday, Oct. 3: Richard Wright, a 1981 欧美视频 graduate and Life Beautiful Award recipient, and 2016 Life Service Award recipient, will be the featured presenter.
Monday, Oct. 8: James Bohner, data analyst in information and technology services at 欧美视频, will present the Corporate Discipline of Worship.
Wednesday, Oct. 10: 欧美视频鈥檚 University Activities Council presents Eddie Briery, who travels the country as a Bible teacher, evangelist and leadership developer.
Monday, Oct. 15: Dr. Mike Fuhrman, professor of Christian Ministry at 欧美视频, will present the Inward Discipline of Prayer.
Wednesday, Oct. 17: Todd Earl, associate director of graduate admissions for 欧美视频, will present the Inward Discipline of Fasting.
Monday, Oct. 22: Dr. Philip Nation, who serves as the pastor of First Baptist Church in Bradenton, Fla., also has served as a pastor, minister of education and a church planter, and will be the featured presenter.
Wednesday, Oct. 24: Aaron Strumpel, contemporary Christian artist, will share his music. Strumpel also will conduct a songwriters鈥 workshop at 4 p.m., and a concert at 7 p.m. in the Goodson Student Union.
Monday, Oct. 29: Dr. Bill DuVall, assistant professor of psychology at 欧美视频, will present the Corporate Discipline of Guidance.
Wednesday, Oct. 31: Norris Burkes, a military and hospital chaplain, freelance writer and spiritual columnist whose columns are syndicated in nearly 40 papers around the country, will be the featured presenter.
Monday, Nov. 5: Dr. Duke Jones, professor of Christian education, Landon Loftin, a 2012 欧美视频 graduate, and Garrick Allen, resident director of Memorial Hall, will host a panel discussion on the Outward Discipline of Simplicity.
Wednesday, Nov. 7: Higher Ground, 欧美视频鈥檚 contemporary Christian worship ensemble that tours throughout the entire academic year, will lead praise and worship.
Monday, Nov. 12: Bill Walkup, assistant professor of psychology and counselor at 欧美视频, will present the Corporate Discipline of Confession.
Wednesday, Nov. 14: Dr. Scott McNeal, director of extended learning for 欧美视频, will present the Outward Discipline of Solitude.
Monday, Nov. 26: Deanna Robertson, University Ministries administrative assistant, will present the Outward Discipline of Submission.
Wednesday, Nov. 28: Micah AuBuchon, a 2010 欧美视频 graduate, will lead praise and worship.
Monday, Dec. 3: This is an encore performance of the annual Festival of Christmas concert.
Wednesday, Dec. 5: Students will be commissioned for mission projects through the Center for Global Connections at this service featuring worship with Zach Atchley and Nate Jones.
